Sarah Kline

Principal

Sarah Kline is a recognized leader in transportation policy, with a specialty in public transportation and transit-oriented development.  She began her career at the U.S. Senate, where she served for eight years as counsel to the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs.  At the Committee, she had responsibility for all transit-related matters as well as various housing finance and insurance issues.  She further developed her transit expertise as Director of Policy and Government Relations for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), the largest public transportation provider in the Washington, D.C. region.  She also led policy development and research for two national nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving local transportation and advancing community development: Transportation for America and Reconnecting America.  


Sarah is a results-oriented, experienced writer, speaker, and advocate.  She is a lawyer by training, with a J.D. from Stanford Law School and a B.A. from Harvard University.  She was a 2010 recipient of Mass Transit Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 Award.
